Plot

In Escape the Backrooms, we play as an unfortunate individual removed from reality, stuck in the titular Backrooms. They're unnaturally empty, seemingly endless locations without an exit, where paranormal threats lurk and hunt. We must survive and find a way out.

Mechanics

Escape the Backrooms is a first-person game (FPP). The game is set in various locations - these include the labyrinth-like abandoned office spaces referring the first Backrooms creepypasta, underground parking lots, dark service tunnels and more imaginative areas, like a seemingly beautiful fairy tale village.

While searching the Backrooms for an exit, we must watch out for hostile creatures hunting us. We must stay vigilant and watch them closely, learning each creature's unique behavior to avoid direct confrontation and escape the hunt.

Game modes

Escape the Backrooms s singleplayer and co-op for up to four players. Players rarely spawn at the same place, which is problematic, as all of them need to find the exit to escape. This means we should stick close to fellow survivors if we find them, especially since the in-game voice chat only works when the characters are nearby.

Technical aspects

Escape the Backrooms boasts decent visuals - the locations are diverse and atmospheric, while the monsters - suitably terrifying. The game s VR sets.
