An outstanding puzzle game (better known under the name of notSureAboutNameYet), created by independent developer Miro Straka. The title of Euclidean Lands refers to the mathematical term of Euclidean space, and we play as a wanderer traversing surrealistic lands made of cubic blocks. During his journey, the protagonist faces various puzzles, most of which come down to correct environment manipulation.
Euclidean Lands is a puzzle game, whose name was taken from the well-known mathematic concept of "Euclidean space". The game, previously known as notSureAboutNameYet, is the work of an independent creator Miro Straka and was created for mobile devices with the iOS system.
In Euclidean Lands, we play as a wanderer who explores a rather surreal land of cubic blocks connected together. Our goal is to solve puzzles, avoid traps and fight battles with the enemies. The narration was realized in an equally unusual style. We discover the story by reading texts written in different locations. Therefore, in order to understand the full story, it is necessary to thoroughly explore all moving elements.
At first glance, the gameplay in Euclidean Lands resembles a bit of the highly regarded Monument Valley logical game and, just like in that game, we have to manipulate the environment. However, Euclidean Lands allows us to rotate the camera in any angle - we can rotate both the levels and individual blocks. In this way, we make our way forward and, at the same time, we avoid the various types of traps.
But that's not all, because apart from the typically logical challenges, the game also features fights with enemies. The game uses a turn-based system, similar to that known from Lara Croft GO. Besides the regular opponents, we can also encounter more demanding bosses who have the ability to manipulate the environment similarly to us.
Euclidean Lands, released on the iOS platform, is characterized by a rather minimalistic graphic design, maintained in slightly pastel colors, slightly reminiscent of the aforementioned Monument Valley. The whole design is clear and pleasing to the eye, and the style of execution fits the logical character of the game perfectly.
