Mechanics

There are many space shooter games, but they most often focus on the simulation aspects and complex gameplay mechanisms. The creators of Everspace choose a different approach and produced a shooter with an easy controls system and dynamic combat. You observe the world both from the cockpit perspective and through camera lens places above your ship. During the game, you explore the open-world galaxy, gather resources, fight enemies, and complete quests. The battles are 100% arcade-like, and an additional attraction here is an expansive damage system. You have to take care of repair your ship when its gets damaged in battle and to modify and upgrade it.

Curiously, Everspace for PC, PS4 and XONE was designed in such a way as to ensure that you die quite often. Death doesn't mean that the game is over, however, but each time you start anew in a different version of the same universe. Its key elements are changed and reshuffled, so that you can experience new adventures. You also don't start with a completely blank slate, as you get plenty of equipment, whose quality depends of how well you did during the previous gameplay. This death and rebirth cycle makes you more and more powerful with every step.
