Evil Dead: The Game is a TPP action game based on the Evil Dead movie franchise, which originated in 1981, as well as the TV series Ash vs Evil Dead, which premiered in 2015. It was developed by BossTeamGames and Saber Interactive.
The gameplay revolves around fighting monsters summoned to the world of the living through a spell from the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis. The title features a wide range of playable characters, well known to the fans of the franchise. These include Ash Williams, Scotty, Lord Arthur and Kelly Maxwell. Players aren't limited to the role of a hero, however, as they can also take the side of the titular Evil Dead. By taking control of the powerful Kandarian Demon they can hunt the heroes, possess the parasitic Deadites or influence the environment.
Murdering the advancing dead hordes is not the only activity offered by the game. While scouring the forest or the buildings scattered around the map, the players can find legendary artifacts or lost Necronomicon pages. Once the team gathers enough items, they can cast a special spell to send the Kandarian back where it came from.
The game is playable in singleplayer, as well as in online co-op for up to four players. Each available character has a different weapon and skills, making cooperation with their teammates the key to success. Evil Dead: The Game features online PvP as well.
The game's 3D visuals capture the atmosphere of Evil Dead quite well. To make the game more appealing to the fans, the implemented locations were taken directly from the films. Additionally, one of the voice actors involved in the project is Bruce Campbell himself, who portrayed Ash Williams in the Evil Dead movies.
