Far Cry: New Dawn is another part of the best-selling FPS series, made by Ubisoft. For the first time in the history of the cycle, the developers decided to create a direct continuation of the previous production from this franchise - in this case Far Cry 5.

Plot

Action of Far Cry: New Dawn takes place after the events presented in the Far Cry 5. Seventeen years have ed since the nuclear war, of which North America, among others, was a victim. The nuclear winter has already receded, and it was followed by the so-called "super bloom" - the earth is overgrown with dense vegetation, especially colourful flowers.

During the game we get to the postapocalyptic version of Hope County. As a self-created heroine or hero, we have to deal with an army of dandruffers called Highwaymen, which travel all over the country (or rather what's left of it) and are ruled by two twins, Mickey and Lou.

Far Cry Game Series

Far Cry is a series of first-person shooters (FPS) with a sandbox gameplay model. The leading theme of the series is spectacular shootouts using modern firearms, but the developers are not afraid to experiment and from time to time serve players a trip to completely different realities, such as distant prehistory (where rifles and flamethrowers are replaced by bows and machetes) or an alternative world in the climate of cyberpunk (where cyborg soldiers fight using laser weapons). The series allows us to drive vehicles, including jeeps or boats with machine guns, and sometimes to ride animals (such as elephants). Starting with the third installment, RPG-like elements, such as crafting and character skill development, began to enter the series. Later installments were also equipped with level editors.

It's Far Cry 5 again, on a smaller scale and with a post-apocalyptic paint job.

Far Cry New Dawn is both a magnificent re-imagination of the storied series, and a lackluster approach by Ubisoft plagued with repetition.

Eurogamer: by Vikki Blake

An over-familiar follow-up, perhaps, but New Dawn whittles away the rough edges of Far Cry 5 for something extremely enjoyable.
