An online co-op FPS from Remedy, set in the universe of the Control game. In FBC: Firebreak we play as of the titular team, tasked with protecting the Oldest House for the Federal Bureau of Control. We act as 3-person teams, dealing with supernatural threats.
FBC: Firebreak is an FPS designed with co-op gameplay in mind. It is a spin-off of the Max Payne series.
Plot
FBC: Firebreak takes us to the science-fiction universe, or more precisely – to the so-called Oldest House, the headquarters of the Federal Bureau of Control, which we had the opportunity to visit in Control. When this place becomes targeted by extraterrestrial forces, the titular Firebreak comes into action, which is the most versatile unit of the FBC.
During the game, we play as of this unit, and our goal is to restore order in the office as quickly as possible, before it is completely taken over by anomalies distorting reality and creatures spreading chaos.
Gameplay
In FBC: Firebreak we view the action from a first-person perspective (FPP). During the game we primarily focus on eliminating the extraterrestrial forces attacking the Federal Bureau of Control. We get rid of monsters, which are differentiated in of size and appearance, as well as attack strength and resistance to damage, by making use of an arsenal that includes firearms, grenades, and all sorts of combat gadgets. The game allows us to customize individual pieces of equipment to our current needs and individual fighting style. Moreover, as we progress, we gain supernatural improvements that increase our effectiveness on the battlefield.
Co-op
FBC: Firebreak was designed for online cooperation for up to three people.
Engine
FBC: Firebreak is powered by the proprietary Northlight engine, which was previously used for such Remedy Entertainment projects as Control, Alan Wake 2.
