Field of Glory II Medieval is the next instalment of Field of Glory II, and Byzantium Games studio is responsible for the production.
Field of Glory II: Medival is based on a gameplay model developed for Field of Glory II. In the game, we focus on turn-based skirmishes on boards divided into squares. This time we command armies of the late Middle Ages, taking part in conflicts from 1040-1270, such as the invasion of the Mongols, the Anglo-French conflict and the Crusades. We have 29 historical nations to choose from, including Anglo-Saxons, Scotland, Norway, Kievan, etc. We have more than 100 different units to choose from, and in combat we also benefit from the of the generals, increasing the morale and combat potential of the units they command. Attention should also be paid to such factors as the terrain, utilities and formation.
Field of Glory II: Medieval allows historical battles like the Battle of Hastings and Battle of Kresenbrunn, in order to see how things could have turned out differently. In these battles, we can stand against the computer or other players in online mode via e-mail. In addition, there are four campaigns in which we take part in successive battles involving, among others, Aleksander Nevsky and the Mongolian hordes. The alternative is a sandbox campaign, which allows you to control any nation, and a random map generator and built-in map editor.
Field of Glory II: Medieval doesn't differ much in of the graphics from the previous edition of the series. Thus, we get a simple but clear graphic design referring to the board game, with faithfully reproduced appearance of the units.
The game s multiplayer gaming, but to play with others you need a Slitherine PBEM - the publisher's own platform.
