Flat Heroes is a platform action game by indie studio Parallel Circles. It was published by Deck13 Interactive, the co-authors of The Surge.
Flat Heroes utilizes a side-view perspective. You play as the eponymous heroes, which are squares fighting for survival in over 300 levels, all of them designed by hand. You control the protagonists with simple moves (run, jump, dodge, and attack), and the gameplay involves jumping on platforms, avoiding traps and enemies' attacks, as well as eliminating the opponents (including 10 powerful boss enemies). It's worth noting that the game features a high difficulty level.
The default Flat Heroes game mode is the campaign; apart from that, the game also features special challenges. The production allows you to play on your own or with up to two other players in a co-op or PvP mode.
Flat Heroes features minimalist 2D visuals based on simple geometrical shapes, and a dynamic soundtrack.

Seafoam Gaming: 6 / 10 by Connor Nichols
Still, shameful delay on my end or not, this isn’t a bad game, and while it doesn’t do much special, it does end up being a enjoyable enough timekiller, and if you have a Steam Deck, this ain’t a bad way to the time on the go.

All said Flat Heroes is a complete and deep package whose unassuming appearance belies a wide variety of challenges and opportunities for fun. Even if you’re unable to get some friends together the massive 300 levels of the single-player campaign, Survival levels, and pretty competent bot for Versus mode could keep you occupied for quite some time. If you’ve been looking for something that’s satisfyingly different and impeccably crafted you’d be making a mistake by overlooking this indie gem.
