Foreclosed is a cyberpunk action game with RPG elements, stylized as a kind of interactive comic book. The game was developed by an independent team of Antab Studio and released by Merge Games.

Plot

Foreclosed takes us on a journey into a cyberpunk reality in which a corrupt power is not interested in the fate of individuals. The main hero of the game - Evan Kapnos - has lost his identity, and with it - work, money and access to the implants installed in his brain. To keep his freedom, the hero has to leave the city before his property is sold at auction.

Mechanics

In Foreclosed action is shown from the third person perspective (TPP). In carrying out the tasks that are pushing the plot forward, we are walking through a cyberpunk metropolis and confronting the hostile people who are pushing the hero's life forward. The way we eliminate our enemies is closely linked to our hero's development, whose combat potential is increased by installing implants in his brain to provide him with specific skills and by modifying his symbiotic gun.

Evan can act silently, sneaking behind the enemy's back and silently eliminating them. On the other hand, there is nothing to prevent him from charging his adversaries, making use of explosive ammunition, a module that makes his gun a real machine gun and implants that give him skills like telekinesis. In addition, Kapnos can hack into security systems, set traps and even take control over the minds of enemies.

Technical aspects

Stylization for interactive comics is is expressed in Foreclosed not only through cel-shading graphics, but also onomatopoeias, characteristic "bubbles" and even the presentation of specific scenes in several frames simultaneously.
