The game is a continuation to a sports title Franchise Hockey Manager 2014. Franchise Hockey Manager 2 was created by Out of the Park Developments - a team known for a series of baseball games. The player becomes the manager of either a player-created hockey team, or another that belongs to one of 21 leagues from all over the world.
Franchise Hockey Manager 2 for PC brings a continuation to a sports game series of baseball-themed games.
The player assumes leadership over an ice-hockey team originating in one of 21 leagues from all over the world (2 leagues more than in the original, 2014's game), and their goal is obviously to lead the team to victory and glory. The player is required to take care of a massive number of typical management-related tasks, such as setting the tactics for subsequent matches, hiring of the staff, obtaining and g contracts with new footballers, or taking care of the club's finances. Depending on the player's preferences, one can be dealing with all the matters connected to managing the team or place, for instance – the main coach, in charge of some of the matters.
In comparison to the first installment, the game introduces plenty of novelties and improvements. Among them, one will find the remodeled system of team tactics, a system behind one's players' fatigue, development and progress evaluation, an extensive news section, or an opportunity to play pre-season matches. One of the most characteristic elements of the original game was reproduced here, which is an ability to build one's hockey team from scratch – this was not based solely on the hockey players that are currently on the top, because the game reaches even as far back as to 1931.
Franchise Hockey Manager 2 for PC utilizes a completely new engine created specifically for this game. which is at the source of both the game's improved visuals (including the remodeled interface) and its AI that simulates each second of the hockey match in order to ensure an even higher level of realism. Changes have come also with the implementation of the Facegen technology that generates realistic-looking faces of the hockey players and coaches in club colors. Interestingly, once silhouettes have been genreated, they will undergo changes, such as gaining weight or getting older as the player progresses further in the game.
