Frontline Commando: D-Day is a shooter in which we fight on the side of the Allies during several landing campaigns in Normandy. During the skirmishes, the character automatically holds on to the shields, and our task is to change the position behind the obstacles, leaning out at the right moment and eliminating enemies.
Frontline Commando: D-Day, released on AND and iOS, is a mobile shooter set in World War II. The production was developed by Glu Mobile studio and it uses a free-to-play model with microtransactions.
The action takes place during World War II, during the landing of Allied troops in Normandy in 1945. The game doesn't have a multiplayer mode, but it offers rich content for a single player. We can play five campaigns recreating the landings on the beaches of Utah, Omaha or Sword. In total, the authors have developed 145 missions. In-between the missions, we can read historical trivia. By completing the levels, we unlock access to others, including those belonging to other campaigns. For example, if we have a problem with completing later challenges on Utah beach, we can take a break from them and focus on the Sword beach.
We don't have full freedom to explore the maps. Instead, we can only change our position behind the current cover or jump to another. We focus on avoiding enemy fire and choosing the right moments to lean out of the barricade and shoot. We can also use a scope on our rifle to shoot more accurately. However, this will expose us to the enemy fire.
When we defeat all enemies in a given section, the game switches to endless runner mode. In it, our soldier rushes to the next location. The character moves forward automatically, and we only correct his movements to avoid collision with obstacles or to protect the hero from being hit by a mine. The game also has sections that appear from time to time, in which we take control of powerful guns and we have to destroy enemy aircraft and tanks.
