Mechanics

In Frozenheim we observe the action from the top-down view. Our primary task in the game is to expand the Viking settlement. We need various resources to do that; while getting wood in the frosty north is not a big problem, getting other resources requires expeditions. In this way, we acquire materials that allow us to construct new buildings and improve the existing ones, among which we can find both objects connected with production and improving the lives of our Vikings, as well as sacred buildings or military constructions. As we progress, we gain access to various development trees, on which we discover new buildings and technologies.

Before we start to rule these lands for good, it is worth taking care of the defence of your settlement in advance, surrounding it with palisades and building watchtowers. Our actions will eventually attract the attention of other inhabitants of the territory, who do not have to look at them with a favorable eye. Then there is nothing left to do but to field the largest and most diverse army possible and enter the war. Dynamic battles are full of tactics, so the key to success is to skilfully exploit the strengths of each type of unit under your command.

Of course, our people will not build and fight for us if we do not take care of their other needs. So we have to provide them housing, as well as cultivate the land, organize hunts or even fishing to obtain food for them. Things are complicated by the fact that there are changing seasons in the game; while spring and summer are the time of bloom, in autumn and winter we have to focus mainly on survival.

Frozenheim allows for single or multiplayer gameplay.

Technical aspects

Graphics of Frozenheim presents high quality. Buildings are full of details, as well as detailed vegetation overgrowing the northern land. There is a photo mode implemented in the game, which allows to create personalised screenshots.
