FullBlast is a vertical shoot 'em up, in which we sit at the helm of a fighter taking down waves of aliens attacking our planet. This is the debut work of an independent two-person studio UFO Crash Games from Spain. The creators were strongly inspired by the traditional shoot em' up titles from the 80's and 90's. FullBlast was originally released in 2015 on the WiiU console, and in the following years it found its way to other popular hardware platforms.
FullBlast puts us at the controls of a small fighter equipped with a rich arsenal designed to fight the forces of space invaders. Like countless classic titles of the genre, players slowly travel through a linear level, fighting off waves of enemies. We can use several types of weapons and power-ups and avoid missiles. The creators prepared a total of twelve levels, between which they placed short cut-scenes. Their layout and the order in which we encounter each of the seven bosses is generated randomly for each playthrough.
Apart from the standard arcade mode for one person, the whole title can also be played with a friend, fighting in the local cooperation mode on a common screen (the game on mobile platforms does not have this option).
Despite the fact that the action of the game takes place in 2D, both the maps and the opponents have been realized in full three-dimensional. In the course of the game we are accompanied by a heavymetal soundtrack.
