Galactic Civilizations III: Mercenaries is an expansion to the 2015 turn-based strategy, Galactic Civilizations III released on the PC platform. The expansion, developed by Stardock, requires the original version of the game.
Plot
The expansion continues the history of the great galactic war between humanity and the ruthless Drengin Empire. This conflict has been going on for so long that the military resources of its participants have been depleted, which is why both factions decide to strengthen their forces by using mercenaries from the criminal underworlds.
This add-on also allows you to play as a new faction known as Torians. They are an alien race that is living mainly under water, which, with the help of mercenaries, tries to drive the forces of the Drengin Empire out of their territories.
Mechanics
Galactic Civilizations III: Mercenaries, released on PC, offers an extensive campaign in which we take command of the Torian Confederation. At the beginning, its colonies are in ruins and it is necessary to gradually rebuild them. Only then, will we be able to face the Drengin Empire.
Of course, there expansion also offers a free play mode, which allows you to direct any faction. This option allows you to play the second new race called Arcean, an ancient civilization of honorary warriors, who hate the Drengin Empire.
The expansion also introduces the so-called galactic bazaar, where dozens of mercenaries offer their services. The diversity of their characteristics and talents allows us to perform tasks that would be too dangerous or even impossible for our own units. In addition, Galactic Civilizations III: Mercenaries adds mutliple new types of ships as well as hundreds of additional parts for different units.
