Galactic Civilizations IV: Tales of the Arnor is the fifth major (and sixth overall) expansion to the Galactic Civilizations IV, released in 2022. The add-on was developed by the Stardock team overseeing the brand.

New features in the add-on

As the title suggests, Galactic Civilizations IV: Tales of the Arnor focuses on the ancient Precursor civilization, which arrived in the Milky Way in the distant past and left a lasting mark on the fate of this galaxy. For the purposes of the expansion, a campaign was prepared, during which we learn the history of various species and empires, gradually discovering the next secrets associated with Arnor.

Additionally, the DLC brings new treasures to discover and challenges to overcome, as well as introduces late-game crisis events related to the unfinished projects of Arnor. There are high stakes here, as our actions can affect the entire Milky Way.

The icing on the cake is the technology tree for the Cybernetic phenotype, giving us access to planetary upgrades, ship components, and events from the early stage of the game.

Coop and other game modes

Similar to the base version, Galactic Civilizations IV: Tales of the Arnor allows for both single-player fun, as well as cooperative or competitive online multiplayer.
