Gamma World: Alpha Mutation is an action-RPG which is the result of cooperation between Atari and an independent studio Bedlam Games, known from Dungeons & Dragons: Daggerdale. The title is based on the Gamma World license, a paper fiction game first published in 1978 by TSR.

Plot

The action takes place in the middle of the 25th century, more than a hundred years after the Second Nuclear War, which destroyed the majority of human civilization. The weapon of mass destruction used in it was so powerful that it changed the shape of the coastline, blew away entire cities from the surface of the Earth and left huge stretches of strongly radioactive terrain. As a result, a large proportion of living organisms have mutated. Many of them gained such powers as super strength or telepathy. Moreover, the intelligence of some plant and animal species has reached a level that allows them to compete with humanity.
