An official expansion pack for Gary Grigsby's War in the East - a turn-based strategy game developed by 2BY3 Games. Don to the Danube once again takes the player to the Eastern front of the World War II, though the size of the warfare theater was reduced and the time period it encomes got narrowed. The game focuses on key operations that took place in the regions between Don and the Danube from May 1942 to May 1945.
Don to the Danube for PC is an official expansion pack for Gary Grigsby's War in the East – a strategy game which came out in 2010, thanks to Matrix/Slitherine. The expansion was developed by the creators of the base game – the legendary Gary Grigsby and his 2BY3 studio.
As the title suggests, the player is taken again to the eastern battlefront of the Second World War and the game is set in the regions between the Don and the Danube. The expansion brings 10 completely new scenarios, which recreate more or less important operations that took place between May, 1942, and May 1945. Both length and difficulty level of particular missions come in different varaites – from the initial phase of the Fall Blau operation (3 turns only), to dramatic fights near the Danube towards the end of the war (37 turns).
Don to the Danube for PC does not introduce any significant changes to the mechanics or the visuals. However, the expansion contains all the improvements and modifications introduced several months earlier along with the 1.06.00 patch.
