Gaucho and the Grassland is an indie game developed by Epopeia Games studio. In this title, we play the role of a gaucho - a South American cattle herder who, together with his faithful companions, returns to his homeland to rebuild the ranch from his childhood.

Gaucho and the Grassland is a farm sim in which we get a closer look at the culture of South American cattle herders. It was developed and published by Epopeia Games, a studio known also for its work on such titles as IIN and Outland Rapture. To make the gameplay even more varied, the developers decided to introduce elements of a fantastic world, inspired by the culture of Southern Brazil and its local stories.

Game mechanics

An exploration of the vast land, gathering resources, raising cattle and gradually expanding our ranch are the main elements of the gameplay. Although the main character decided to run the farm alone, he can always count on the company of his faithful four-legged friends - the dog Cusco and the horse Pingo, who sometimes take part in his various adventures.

Exploration of the vast world is a key element of the gameplay. As we travel, we examine the surroundings, deciding where to locate the next building. It's up to us to decide what furniture will appear in each of the rooms of our apartment, where the sofa will look best, and where the table or carpet should be, and at what distance from the house the cow barn should be located. Over time, we also come to expand the area of our farm, developing more land with different biomes.

Travel is combined with the acquisition of various resources. Among other things, our protagonist can pick plants or cut down trees, sometimes he also goes in search of specific species of wild animals. In addition to standard terrains - such as vast, grass-covered areas with a few trees on the horizon - the game also features cursed places and dark caves, hiding legendary treasures - an unusual reward for the daredevil who dares to set out for them.
