A VR FPP action adventure game based on the license of an iconic film series. Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord has us playing as a titular Ghostbuster, tasked with defeating the titular spirit.
Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord is an action adventure game based on the Ghostbusters license, originating from an iconic movie series. It was developed by nDreams, also responsible for games such as Fracked, with VR in mind.
Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord is set in the same world as the movies. We play as an original character leading the Ghostbusters HQ in San Francisco, tasked with repelling the threat of the titular Ghost Lord. First, however, we must face other visitors from the afterlife. Similarly to how it was presented in the original movies, ghost hunting here is humorous and doesn't take itself too seriously.
Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord is a first-person game (FPP). We must traverse various locations in San Francisco and capture ghosts using a retro-futuristic proton pack. By completing quests we gradually approach the final battle against the Ghost Lord.
Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord s singleplayer and four player co-op.
Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord makes use of a colorful, cartoonish artstyle. The game is full of references to the Ghostbusters movies, such as the returning weapon designs and iconic sound effects.

Game Ratings for Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord Video Game.
Video Chums: 3 / 5 by A.J. Maciejewski
It may have a promising gameplay premise but Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord would have been better as a story-driven adventure.
Push Square: 7 / 10 by Noah McFerran
In summary, Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord encapsulates what it feels like to be a Ghostbuster but seems to be aimed at the younger audience, and may therefore feel a little underwhelming to hardcore gamers. Having said that, it's still a fantastic addition to the wider franchise, and with updates just around the corner, things could become even more interesting.
TheSixthAxis: 7 / 10 by Dominic Leighton
Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord proves that VR 'bustin makes you feel good. It'll feel even better with a group of friends though.
