Sports Story is a continuation of the Golf Story game released in 2017. The player again has to deal with a combination of a sports game and an RPG. In this edition, the creators decided to expand the number of available disciplines.

Developed by a small independent studio called Sidebar Games, Golf Story is an interesting combination of several video game genres created to deliver the titular golf experience. In the game, the player gets to assume the role of a golf player, who travels the world in search for new challenges and opponents. In of mechanics, the game is a combination of Mario Gold and Stardew Valley – Golf Story does not focus only on the matches, enabling the player to participate in a unique adventure, talk to encountered NPCs, and complete numerous tasks. During the game, one can attempt to solve puzzles, complete assignments that boost one’s skills, purchase better pieces of gear, and devote oneself to complete secondary tasks. The matches themselves are based on authentic golf rules. In the game, however, the matches themselves are of highly arcade nature and take place on various golf courses – from the typical grass fields to the special water locations with drifting rafts and crocodiles.
