Game mechanics

Grindstone is a puzzle game that combines match-3 mechanics with tactical elements. The gameplay is turn-based and takes place on levels populated with monsters of different colors. The player has to create attack lines of his hero so that in one move he eliminates at least three opponents of the same color in a row. The longer the string, the more powerful our combat techniques are. If you kill a minimum of 10 enemies in a single move, you are rewarded with a gem that allows you to create strings of attacks that target monsters of different colors.

However, monsters are not defenseless, so when planning an offensive we must take into that our warrior should finish the move in as safe a place as possible. The character is only able to survive a few attacks, so you have to be careful in creating attacks. The game is varied by various obstacles and traps on the map, as well as the fact that some enemies can move on the map.

In addition to standard clashes, skirmishes with bosses also await the player. As the player progresses in the game, he collects resources and construction plans, which can be used to create increasingly better equipment for his warrior.

Game modes

The game offers a single-player mode only. In the campaign we wade through several hundred levels, slowly clearing successive sections of the game.

Players can also unlock the boss rush mode, in which we face only bosses, as well as compete with other players for points in online rankings.
