Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire is another expansion pack for the popular MMORPG Guild Wars 2. The add-on was created by the authors of the original game, namely the team at ArenaNet. Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire was released for PC.
Plot
Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire is set after the events featured in the previous DLC: Heart of Thorns. After players’ heroes thwarted the plans of the world’s conquest by Balthazar, the god of war and fire, his eye became fixed on the southern realm of Elona and the Crystal Desert. Heroes have to stop the march of his evil army before the entire realm falls under its feet.
Mechanics
Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire developer prepared a bunch of new content for the add-on. Among the new attractions the most important are the five new zones waiting for explorers. Interestingly, those locations are bigger than any of the places you could visit so far. We should also note here that you can explore them either on foot or on the back of one of several mounts. The latter serve not only for transport (they can also help you reach hardly accessible places) – they are also a great help in combat.
Besides, the creators prepared nine elite specializations for heroes, which allows them to progress beyond level 80. The list of changes closes up with a brand new guild hall, epic boss fights and new types of armor, weapons and outfits inspired by Elona’s culture.
Technical aspects
Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire can be purchased separately or bundled with the previous expansion. The add-on requires only the original Guild Wars 2 to play, however, in order to use the aforementioned new guild hall you must also own the Heart of Thorns expansion.
