A retro shoot'em up inspired by the classic 2D platformers like Metal Slug. Guns of Fury allows us to cause destruction using a wide variety of weapons and mechs. The game combines dynamic action with obtaining skills and exploring a metroidvania world full of secrets waiting to be discovered.
Guns of Fury is a Goblin Sword combining mechanics known from metroidvanias with gameplay in the style of platform action games from the last decade of the 20th century.
According to the vision presented in Guns of Fury, the near future world is plagued by an energy crisis. After the popular scientist Dr. Klaus announces the discovery of the Tetra Cell energy source, he vanishes, and his laboratory is destroyed as a result of a massive explosion. Suspicion falls on A. Easton, the president of Easton Industries.
As special operative agent Vincent Fury, we infiltrate the top-secret research center of Easton Industries to rescue Doctor Klaus and recover the Tetra Cell.
The game contains alternative endings.
In Guns of Fury, we explore a vast map, the parts of which are unlocked by acquiring certain upgrades and skills. Our path is blocked by waves of armed enemies, which requires us to use an abundant arsenal: from melee weapons, through pistols and rifles, to heavy artillery, a freezing ray, and grenades. The game features mechs with a diverse range of attacks.
There are also battles with bosses and the destructible environment hides secret ages leading to valuable treasures. During precision-demanding platform stages, special moves such as a short sprint and double jump help us. We can spend the coins we earn to buy health-boosting drinks, additional weapons or clothing that provides camouflage. When selecting equipment, we are guided by stats that include damage dealt, rate of fire, and the cost of ammunition.
Guns of Fury is characterized by colorful pixel-art visuals, reminiscent of 16-bit classics. The 1980s styled music was created by Dominic Ninmark.
