Hearthstone: Curse of Naxxramas

Curse of Naxxramas for iOS, AND and PC is the first DLC focusing on a single player mode for the popular online collectible card game Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, set in the universe of the cult Warcraft series by Blizzard Entertainment studios. Hearthstone debuted officially in mid-March 2014. Title was extremely popular even during its long-lasting beta testing. Great reception for the production resulted in developer's announcement, in April the same year, that there will be a single player mode introduced, what was realized with the Curse of Naxxramas for iOS, AND and PC.

Mechanics

In the Curse of Naxxramas for iOS, AND and PC players can explore five regions of Naxxramas necropolis, known from the World of Warcraft game. These are, in succession – The Arachnid Quarter, The Plague Quarter, The Military Quarter, The Construct Quarter and Frostwyrm Lair. We gain access to subsequent parts of the building by spending gold earned in the game or by paying in real money via a microtransaction system. In the course of gameplay we face many bosses with special abilities. We fight, among others, with a giant spider – Maexxna, or an undead monster called Loatheb. In total, we can get 30 new cards with unique skills and graphics. After defeating all major opponents in a given region we gain access to its heroic mode, which offers much more of a challenge and a new card back to our collection as a reward. Matches in the campaign take place on an interactive board prepared for the expansion. After opening subsequent wings of Naxxramas, cards from the DLC become available also in the Arena.
