A tactical RPG with a turn-based combat system, created by authors of Colony Ship and Age of Decadence. In Heralds of the Third Apocalypse we end up in a world inspired by the Bronze Age and H.P. Lovecraft's works. This land is inhabited both by humans and terrifying creatures.
Heralds of the Third Apocalypse is a tactical Age of Decadence games.
Unlike the studio's previous projects, this game focuses on combat. Fans were expecting that the developers would deliver another project on a scale comparable to Colony Ship or even a sequel of that game, but financial reasons forced Iron Tower to undertake a smaller-scale project.
Colony Ship sold well, but not well enough for its creators to afford another project of this caliber. That's why they ultimately decided to develop a slightly smaller production. At the same time, Iron Tower did not rule out a return to the Colony Ship universe in the future.
Heralds of the Third Apocalypse transports us to a grim world modeled on the Bronze Age and inhabited by humans and nightmarish creatures. During the game, we take control of a six-person team that travels through this land, carrying out procedurally generated missions. The game offers three mutually exclusive storylines (which one we follow is determined by our actions and choices), as well as a tactical turn-based combat system. Battles are fought in arenas covered with a grid of hexagonal fields.
