In Herobound: First Steps we take on the role of a goblin traversing underground tunnels to investigate their hidden secrets. At the beginning of the game we have two dungeons at our disposal - after their completion one more labyrinth is unlocked.
The action in Herobound: First Steps is shown in isometric projection - but we can look around freely. In the course of his voyages, the hero confronts various adversaries, headed by powerful bosses - initially in clashes he uses only a sword, although over time he also acquires a bow to eliminate enemies from a safe distance. Combat takes place in real time, and the key to success is to efficiently perform basic and special attacks and avoid enemy attacks.
From time to time, the hero also has to solve a logic or environmental puzzle. It is worth ing that in dungeons there is no shortage of chests hiding stronger weapons - due to the fact that they are usually well hidden, during the game it is worth to look carefully at our surroundings, forcing the protagonist to look into every corner.
Three-dimensional visuals of Herobound: First Steps offer a pleasing cartoonish style, which makes them an eye-catcher. In addition to the Samsung Gear VR, the title requires the dedicated controllers.
