Heroes of Loot

Heroes of Loot is an arcade RPG game made in retro style. It was produced by independent studio OrangePixel, which has also played such games as Meganoid 2, Mini Army or INC: The Beginning.

The main source of inspiration for the authors was the automatic classic Gauntlet. In Heroes of Loot we play the role of an adventurer who explores underground monsters full of monsters, whose structure is generated randomly each time a new game starts. There are four characters to choose from, each with its own fighting style. The warrior uses a heavy two-handed axe. Valkyria prefers two daggers. Elf focuses on distance attacks by means of a bow, while the Sorcerer focuses on combat spells.

Inspired by the Gauntlet cycle means that the gameplay is far from what the Diablo series and its followers have become accustomed to. In Heroes of Loot, the pace of moving around the dungeons resembles rather automatic shooters. While playing, we rush like crazy from room to room, collect gold coins and other items and fight hordes of enemies. The clashes are fully dexterity and require perfect reflex. In the game you won't find an extensive plot or even a typical development system, which makes this project even more similar to the arcade. All this does not mean that it has taken away the option of improving the combat potential of the character. This is enabled by the armament modification system. An additional attraction is the cooperation mode for two people.
