A web-based hockey arcade game, focusing on pvp gameplay. Hockey stars utilizes the free-to-play model with optional microtransactons. Like the previous Miniclip's production, Soccer Stars, Hockey Stars is a simple game inspired by coin football. Two five-person teams are pitted against each other and their task is to put the puck in the opponent's goal.
Hockey Stars is a simple arcade game for AND, WWW and iOS, and is a slightly modified version of its predecessor called Soccer Stars. The title is available in a typical free-to-play model with microtransactions and was developed by Miniclip, a company specializing in simple browser and mobile games.
In of the overall gameplay, Hockey Stars does not differ significantly from its predecessor - its gameplay is based on coin football where two teams of five players each participate in a match. This does not mean, however, that Miniclip simply ported the rules of their previous football game to hockey without making any changes. The main difference in the mechanics is the fact that, unlike the "angular" football pitch, the corners of an ice rink are rounded. Also, unlike football, a hockey puck located near a player sticks to him, allowing for a precise shot without moving from place. However, these seemingly simple modifications change the gameplay completely, forcing players to use tactics that differ from the ones used in Soccer Stars.
Apart from the above mentioned differences, Hockey Stars was build on exactly the same principle. Subsequent matches can be played on several different ice rinks in different parts of the world, and each of them is characterized by a different appearance, winning conditions, as well as the amount of entry fee and the prize for the victory. By winning matches, we gain new fans and reach new levels. We can spend virtual and real money on unique patterns of players and formations (team rosters).
Like Soccer Stars, the game focuses primarily on online matches. In addition to standard single matches, we can also play more complex tournaments and championships with a more attractive prize pool.
In of the graphics, Hockey Stars , released on AND, WWW and iOS, is maintained in exactly the same style as its predecessor. We are dealing here with simple, but aesthetic 2D graphics, which is perfect for casual matches during breaks from work or study.
