Honeycomb: The World Beyond

Mechanics

Honeycomb is an FPP action adventure game. It takes place in a sandbox world offering a lot of freedom of action, and the gameplay focuses on the survival aspect. The bioengineer's task is mainly to study alien fauna and flora, collect samples and conduct experiments. We are given a laboratory to initiate mutations and thus create new resources, animals and plants.

Alien planet quickly turns out to be a dangerous place, where it's easy for the protagonist to die while coming into with local flora and fauna. We also have to face unknown diseases which require creating new medicine.

In Honeycomb an important element of the game is establishing and developing many bases in different places of the planet. There is also a possibility to construct devices, including vehicles, and improve technologies. The game is very sandbox-like but there is also a story thread. There is a secret key hidden on an alien planet, which provides access to knowledge that may save the Earth.

Game modes

Honeycomb offers only single player mode.
