Honor of Kings: World is an online action RPG with an open world. The game is a spin-off of the popular mobile MOBA Honor of Kings, in Europe working under the title Pokemon Unite.
Liu Cixin, the Chinese writer known for The Three-Body Problem, an award-winning science fiction novel, took part in the work on the game. He helped with the storyline and made sure the game provides a unique perspective on Chinese culture.
The game is set in a magical fantasy land known from Honor of Kings. It tells the story of a young warrior (or warrioress, as the game lets you choose between multiple characters) who goes to an academy specializing in training heroes, located in the land of Jixia. Before ing the academy, however, hero has to a demanding exam.
