Game mechanics

In I Was a Teenage Exocolonist we are primarily concerned with following the fate of our character, which we shape by making decisions over the following months. The life of our hero or heroine is in our hands from the very beginning; starting with the choice of school and interests, through our approach to life and the world, ending with relationships with other colonists and the search for our other half. It is only up to us whether we take on the role of a school primer working on new technologies, or decide to prove ourselves as an adventurer learning about the planet's flora and fauna and fighting giant beasts. A total of 25 professions are waiting to be tested here - from the ordinary ones, like salesman, to the more fancy ones, like scientist.

It doesn't stop there, as by making choices we expand the range of experiences. They are presented in the form of cards, and we can use the deck, which we compose as we progress, in moments requiring demonstration - whether we're talking about ing an important test or even escaping from a monster chasing us. In addition, as we progress, we develop character traits, among which we find courage, toughness, organization and empathy, among others.
