Release Date: August 9, 2016
A continuation of the famous combat flight simulator series, Il-2 Sturmovik, developed, like the previous installment in the series, by the team at 777, working under the aegis of 1C Company. As the subtitle suggests, the action of the game once again takes us to the Eastern Front during the World War II, where we are involved in key air operations of the turn of 1941 and 1942, including the eponymous battle of Moscow.
Battle of Moscow for PC is the sixth main installment in the IL-2 Sturmovik series – the air combat simulator franchise developed by the Russian 1C Company. Like the previous installment, Battle of Stalingrad, we are dealing here with the work of the team of 1C Game Studios, formed after including 777 Studios (creators of Rise of Flight) into the structure of 1C Company.
Once again, we drift into the time of World War II, on the Eastern Side of the conflict. This time the action takes place a little earlier, during the Battle of Moscow of late 1942, and early 1943. It was another grand clash of great significance in the fate of the entire war. The game allows us to take part in a series of air operations. We watch the events from both sides of the conflict (Russians and Germans).
There are eight machines at our disposal: I-16 type 24, MiG-3, Il-2 1941 model and Pe-2 35 series on the Russian side, and Messerschmitts: Bf 109 E-7, Bf 109 F-2, Bf 110 E-2 and Junkers Ju 88 A-4 on the German side. In addition, there is also a possibility to unlock more planes for an extra charge.
