These days the WD team is finishing its first game title which is a 2D-isometric action RPG called Inquisitor. As the name suggests, the game will take place in dark middle ages in a fictive empire, which stands on the very brink of collapse and where heretic sects, the church, nobility and knight orders fight each other. Holy inquisition was called to solve the conflict and to protect faith against heresy. It is the investigating and court body of the church empowered by huge authority. Soon after that many funeral piles with the sentenced heretics were lighted up around the Realm and screaming of tortured convicts filled prisons of the Holy Inquisition. But as usual when there is a power there is also a corruption and hellish forces had already managed to take a deep root in the highest society - among the noblemen, in the Church and even in the Holy Inquisition itself. In this absolute decadence a frightful struggle for power broke out between an ancient heretic sect Children of New Order and a small but powerful group of royalists. And in this situation the Player is going to step into this fight. At the very beginning of the game the Player is mandated by an unknown benefactor to lead an investigation of horrific crimes that were committed in a small border town. Due to that the player will soon get wind of a monstrous conspiracy, leading to the most powerful persons in the Realm.

Although officially it is an action RPG it does not mean that only action matters. Judging by the character, the script and the game design, Inquisitor is close to other kinds of games, such as the classic RPG or adventure with significant detective elements. What does it suggest? Mainly the fact that the player in the main story line will be given the task to investigate who is the head of the conspiracy threatening the empire. The success or failure in this task will depend not only on his strength and power, but mainly on his brightness and logical thinking which will be needed in the investigation of crimes. The authors of the game do not make any secret of the fact that they were inspired by classic literature. Umberto Eco's The Name Of The Rose was the main source of inspiration; of course not the story but the atmosphere and the way of investigation.

The most significant advantage of the game will be its story, which will be slightly different for each of the three main characters. The player will choose at the beginning of the game which role he wants to play: a priest, paladin or a rogue. Each character is given many unique skills, which make huge differences between the characters. This will enable the player to try three totally different game strategies. Moreover, each character will go through a different story, which will differ mainly in the player's enemies, rivals and friends. So the player will be able to experience three different adventures and will solve three separate cases, in which a former friend may become the most dangerous enemy and a filthy heretic.
