Jagged Alliance: Deadly Games

Jagged Alliance: Deadly Games is a stand-alone addition to the first part of the series by Sir-Tech, a Canadian studio known from the Wizardry series, among others. This is a strategy in which the player takes command of a group of mercenaries. The action takes place in real time until the moment of the fight - then the system switches to turn-based mode, in which each of the subjects has a limited number of action points, and these are subtracted for the actions taken (e.g. shooting, change of position or treatment). The number of points depends on the unique characteristics of mercenaries, their health and morale.

The extension, unlike the basic game, does not have a feature layer. The game is based on single tasks with increasing difficulty, which are the only source of income. For the money earned the player can recruit better and more experienced soldiers, who, unlike in the first part of the Jagged Alliance, are hired only for the duration of a single mission. Deadly Games does not have an open world that gives freedom of movement and sequence of decisions. Instead, the player is immediately sent to the action area and taken away from there only after the specified objectives have been achieved.
