Journey to the Savage Planet Expansion Pack
Release Date: April 15, 2020
The first DLC to the exploratory action game Journey to the Savage Planet created by Typhoon Studios. Hot Garbage introduces a new location with more creatures, weapons and gadgets to help you move around.
s
The first add-on to the Far Cry. Originally Hot Garbage was released on PC and Xbox One. PlayStation 4 owners had to wait a little longer for the release.
The story told in add-on revolves around the planet DL-C1 and the interstellar resort Kindred Aerospace, located at 4th place in the Best in Space ranking. The game's hero was sent there to investigate a mysterious increase in pollution. On the spot he discovers that this is the responsibility of Vyper Corp., located at 2nd place in the Best in Space ranking, which turned the resort into a toxic waste dump. The player's task is to break through alien hordes and gain evidence of robot activity.
The planet itself offers brand new flora and fauna, including a a foolish bird that looks like an eagle owl, and new kinds of robots, including the Vyper Corp. cleaning drones. After each expedition, we can return to our base where we can review the ments for the most interesting products of the galaxy that the future has to offer us.
The narrative of the add-on is maintained in the same comical style as the basic version of the game.
The mechanisms introduced by the add-on focus on improvements in the exploration. Using a special scanner, which is also used to examine traces sent to the base, we can find new improvements to our equipment or skills. Among the added elements of the equipment there are shoes for underwater exploration (by pinning the player to the bottom of water reservoirs), a costume for crossing toxic areas, the ability to run endlessly or a limited flying system (used in special air races).
The introduced creatures and robots also received new properties. Eagle owls explode when sent into the air with a kick, leaving a cloud of toxic gas behind, which we can use in combat. In turn, among cyber threats, apart from weaker drones, we can meet Kronus, a powerful robot whose task is to get rid of intruders in the area occupied by Vyper Corp. - which includes the player.
Hot Garbage add-on is not standalone, so it requires the basic version of Journey to the Savage Planet to work.
