A platform game in which we play the role of a knight trying to get to the top of the high tower. In Jump King we jump on the platforms and constantly climb up, and a possible fall ends with the need to repeat smaller or larger parts of the climb.
Jump King is a simple but extremely difficult platform game, which puts both our dexterity and skills and patience to the test. The production was developed by independent studio Nexile.
Jump King takes us on a journey to a fantasy world, dominated by a giant tower. During the game we play the role of a knight trying to get to the very top of this construction, where a legendary beauty awaits him. Unfortunately, the road to the goal is long and bumpy, and in order to achieve success, our hero must become the Jumping King.
In the game Jump King, we observe the action from the side. During the game, we jump from platform to platform, constantly climbing up. Apart from regular jumps, hero is also able to perform "charged" jumps, with which he covers longer distances. As the platforms are separated by different distances, each jump has to be measured accordingly... ...or count on luck. If we fail, the main character will fall. And this one can be painful, even though the hero can't die. The state of the game is saved automatically, which means that a flight into the abyss can destroy our efforts of the last few hours, or even force us to repeat the strenuous climbing from the very beginning.
It is worth ing that there is often more than one road leading upwards, and this most obvious path is not always the easier one. Besides, the knight meets various characters in the tower; interaction with them allows us not only to get to know their adventures, but also to deepen our knowledge about the presented world.
Jump King has simple, but colorful and clear graphics made in the pixel art technique. The retro style is complemented by an 8-bit sound layer.

Difficulty should always work in unison with the fun factor of game, and not overshadow it, which is exactly what happens in Jump King, where trying to "guess" how much power you need to apply to your jumps is combined with a level design that doesn't tolerate failure, with the end result being constant aggravation. The smoking hot babe at the top isn't worth the trouble.

There's a lot to be said for keeping it simple, and this game is a testament to that. Jump King only tries to do one thing, but it does it so incredibly well without compromising the challenge.

Although frustrating and oppressive by design, Jump King brings a level of satisfaction in victory rarely found in gaming. The varied level design and sheer amount of content within will provide hours of falling for those with the patience to continue.
