A sandbox platformer in which we find ourselves on the title littered planet, and our task is to bring it to order. While playing at Junk Planet, we not only clean up the rubbish, but also plant, bring animals back to life, create various objects, construct buildings and fight enemies.
Junk Planet is a sandbox platform game in which players have to manage the titulae junk planet. The game was developed by Happinet, also known for old-school Hyakki Castle.
Junk Planet takes players on a journey to the titular globe that orbits a young star. The planet fount itself in an unfortunate location, as it was a kind of dumping ground of the entire the universe, so this planet literally is full of rubbish. Players take on the role of a spiritual being who was brought back to life by a child named Warashi and endowed with mysterious powers. The task of this duo is to deal with endless piles of rubbish that roll all over the entire globe.
In Junk Planet the action is shown from the side perspective. Players can enjoy an open world divided into a number of regions. During of the game, players clean up ubiquitous rubbish, plant plants, bring animals back to life (which then should be taken care of, for example, by providing them with water), as well as obtain useful resources. They are needed to create a number of different objects and erect buildings. The protagonist can also dig and drill underground tunnels; in the case of the latter, however, he has to take care of the lighting, as rubbish comes alive in the darkness and becomes aggressive. The game is also full of clashes with enemies - each region is guarded by a boss, and in order to take control of a given land, the protagonist has nothing else to do but to defeat him.
One's actions are evaluated on an ongoing basis - the overall score consists of partial grades awarded for the beauty, vegetation, humidity, and lighting across a given territory.
Junk Planet can be played solo or in the company of a second player, via local cooperative mode.
Junk Planet has colorful, 2D visuals. Players are accompanied by a catchy and relaxing soundtrack.
