A compilation of Jurassic Park games from 1993-1995. Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection includes Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park 2: The Chaos Continues; the latter both in its SNES and Game Boy versions.
Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection is a remastered, expanded compilation of 1993-1995's Jurassic Park games. The compilation was developed by Limited Run Games, including Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park 2: The Chaos Continues, originally released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, as well as the Nintendo Game Boy port of the second game.
The games included in the Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection are set in the literary and cinematic Jurassic Park universe. The playable character of the first Jurassic Park is Dr. Alan Grant, trapped on Isla Nublar - an island housing the titular dinosaur-inhabited park. In order to escape, he must fight for survival.
Jurassic Park 2: The Chaos Continues once again stars the same protagonist. In the SNES version, he must stop the BioSyn corporation from taking over Isla Nublar; he's not alone on his quest, being accompanied by Sgt. Michael Wolfskin. In the Game Boy version, Grant must keep fighting for survival after his vehicle breaks down.
The games included in the Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection vary significantly in of gameplay.
The first Jurassic Park is an action adventure game, its camera perspective changing depending on where the protagonist is. In outside areas the game is top-down, in the interiors it's first-person. While traversing the island, we complete objectives bringing us closer to evacuation. Along the way we collect ID cards to unlock rooms and fight dinosaurs, wielding cattle prods, tranquilizer guns, shotguns, gas grenades and rocket launchers.
Jurassic Park 2: The Chaos Continues is a side-scrolling action platformer. Players move to the right, jumping on platforms, avoiding traps and fighting enemies, wielding different firearms and non-lethal weapons, like tasers, gas grenades and tranquilizer guns. The Game Boy version pits us exclusively against dinosaurs, while the SNES version has us facing humans as well.
Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection doesn't update the visuals much. Nevertheless, the compilation includes new features, such as the ability to save the game at any time and area maps. The game runs on the Carbon Engine - proprietary tech developed with remasters in mind.
