A cancelled TPP action adventure game from the Legacy of Kain series. The Dark Prophecy was being developed by Ritual Entertainment (known from the SIN project) and the game was supposed to be published by Eidos Interactive. The game was planned to be a direct sequel of Legacy of Kain: Defiance, allowing us once again to play as the vampire Kain.

Legacy of Kain: The Dark Prophecy is the unrealized sixth installment of the SIN project). Its release was to be handled by the company Eidos Interactive, which was then overseeing the brand.

Gameplay

In Legacy of Kain: The Dark Prophecy the action was to be viewed from a third-person perspective (TPP). In of mechanics, the game would primarily draw from the legacy of Legacy of Kain: Defiance. During the game, we were to embody the vampire Kain, who would traverse the Kingdom of Demons, exploring locations, solving puzzles, and also fighting enemies.

During dynamic duels with enemies, the protagonist would make use of melee weapons and a range of his skills. Apart from transforming into mist and a wolf, Kain would also learn to change into a beast.

On our way, we would encounter Hyldens and various creatures. We would regenerate our damaged health by sucking the blood of enemies or using people chained to the walls for this purpose.

Story

The creators of Legacy of Kain: The Dark Prophecy were planning to tell two stories with Kain in the lead role. The first was to be a direct sequel of the game Legacy of Kain: Defiance, while the action of the second was to be set after the events depicted in Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2. Together with the vampire Kain, we would end up in the Kingdom of Demons, getting to know it closely and delving into the mythology of the Hyldens.

The developers also considered introducing Raziel into the game. Crystal Dynamics studio (previously responsible for the development of the series) strongly opposed this, with whom they consulted their ideas.
