Lemnis Gate

Lemnis Gate is an unusual game that combines elements of strategy game and first-person shooter. The game uses the science fiction convention (it is mainly about time control motif). The studio Ratloop Games Canada is responsible for its development, while Frontier Foundry is the publisher.

Mechanics

At first glance, Lemnis Gate resembles a classic first-person shooter, but in reality the game rules are much more complicated here. The game is divided into rounds lasting 25 seconds - each participant is given enough time to perform a specific action, e.g. shooting the enemy or hiding. When everyone makes their moves (one by one), the next 25-second sequence begins.

But that's not all, because at Lemnis Gate, players also have the opportunity to influence the turns that have already been made and thus change the course of events. The game forces the participants to think in four dimensions (the fourth is time). Thanks to this unusual mechanics we can even play in cooperation with ourselves (or rather with our version from previous rounds).
