Lionel City Builder 3D: Rise of the Rails is a sandbox simulation game in which we create a transport network. Big John Games studio is responsible for the creation of the game, known, among others, from the successful Minecraft clone called Cube Creator 3D.
The action of the game looks 50 years into the future, when the collapse of the transport network in the world contributes to the collapse and isolation of individual communities. In the absence of freight transport, commercial activity is starting to decline, turning human cities and economic systems into ruin. In the game we play the role of a metallurgist named Vin, who aims to create a completely new railway network, which will restore the ability to transport goods and save the world from total collapse.
Lionel City Builder 3D is largely based on the sandbox element, allowing players to build different types of trains and place them in their own created landscapes. It is extremely important to be able to share one's achievements with other players via QR codes. It is also worth mentioning that the production in its initial intentions was to be a pure sandbox, focusing on building and using for this purpose the engine of the game Coaster Creator 3D. At the stage of the programme's creation, however, the creators decided to colour it with a feature layer, introducing a number of missions linked by a common history.
