A two-dimensional RPG title with side perspective from Dingaling Productions studio. The story of LISA is set in a grim post-apocalyptic future, in which all women have died due to a mysterious cataclysm. We play as a drug addict Brad Armstrong who sets on to find Budda – his adoptive daughter and most likely the last woman on Earth.
LISA is an original RPG game made in the side-scroller convention. The title is available on PC and was developed by independent studio Dingaling Productions.
In LISA, the player ends up in the gloomy, post-apocalyptic land of Olathe, many years before the world of the game was devastated by a mysterious cataclysm called the "White Flash", as a result of which only men remained alive. We follow the fate of Brad Armstrong, a middle-aged man and drug addict. Buddy - perhaps the last woman in the world - found as an infant and brought up by Brad, was kidnapped. The hero sets off on a long and dangerous journey to find her.
The player is informed about the events of the past through various flashbacks, which show both Olathe before the apocalypse and Brad's childhood, with complicated relationships with his sister Lisa and father Marty.
LISA, although she does not avoid black humor, is full of scenes of bestiality and degeneration, and her description of humanity is far from optimism.
The core of gameplay in LISA is exploration of diverse terrains and making decisions - the choices we make during our adventure are directly and permanently reflected in the gameplay mechanics and affect not only the protagonist but also the fate of NPCs and even entire settlements. The protagonist is not doomed to wander alone - while visiting cities and camps, he meets over thirty people who can him.
It should be noted that the game world is a gloomy and cruel place, and our decisions are not easy. In order to save companions in danger, it is necessary to make a sacrifice, sometimes a macabre one - the loss of a limb or an eye, which of course affects our condition in the game. So you can treat your companions in a bad way and, for example, order them to play Russian roulette with high stakes. However, you have to that death is permanent, and the dead can't be resurrected in any way. The whole is complemented by brutal fights with enemies, played in the turn-based system - we can use various attacks and combos based on pressing specific sequences of buttons.
LISA offers simple two-dimensional graphics in an old-school, pixel art design. Thanks to this, however, the system requirements have been kept relatively low so that owners of older PCs can also enjoy the game.
