Casual simulation of life in the fantasy convention. In the shop with curiosities an old tree grows, inside of which magical beings live - the title faers. The player's task is to help them renovate the village. The game was produced by the French development studio Kylotonn Entertainment.
Little Folk of Faery is a proposal of the French development studio Kylotonn Entertainment (Bet on Soldier: Blood Sport, Speedball 2: Tournament and others) addressed to the casual market. Production combines the features of life simulation and real-time strategy (RTS).
The action of the game takes place in a shop with curiosities, where an ancient tree grows. Inside, there live small magical beings - faers. Unfortunately, their village has been in decline for years. The player's task is to help the inhabitants to master the skills that will allow them to take care of the settlement and restore it to its splendour.
The game focuses on guiding the life of a small community. There are several types of fares under your control (including gnomes and elven fairies), each of which has certain predispositions and talents. By performing a variety of tasks (e.g. picking fruit or playing music), creatures acquire new skills and are therefore able to work more efficiently.
The game mechanics is based on very simple rules. The player must make sure that the faers have something to eat (in case of lack of food beings do not die, but stop working), explore the area in search of valuable finds, and also take care of the safety of the villagers, deterring the enemies with music. The level of difficulty is relatively low, which is a clear tribute to casual customers.
Little Folk of Faery is characterized by an aesthetically made visual setting. The artists used two-dimensional graphics with hand-drawn backgrounds. Attention is drawn to the funny animations that accompany the daily activities performed by the characters in the game.
