In LocoRoco 2 Remastered, the player assumes the role of a merry yellow ball, which travels through colorful locations and feeds on fruits to increase its size – the bigger it gets, the slower it becomes, not to mention the increased difficulty of fitting in some tight spots. Depending on player’s needs, the main protagonist can be split into smaller balls, as well as merged together again.
The secret of the game’s success lies in the interesting control system. To push the ball forward, one has to tilt their controller in a way that mimics gravity. Using this system and combining it with platform jumping, players can traverse various locations, discover secret levels, and avoid encountered obstacles.
The PS4 release of LocoRoco 2 Remastered offers graphics we all know from the original game, featuring flat, yet colorful backgrounds. Naturally, the game’s resolution has been adjusted to modern TV screens.
