LOOP8 is a jRPG that allows us to experience the daily life of an extraordinary young man in an equally extraordinary reality. It was developed by Marvelous.
Hero of LOOP8 is a young man named Nini. The protagonist, who spent his entire life so far on a space station, has been deprived of family and home by an ancient threat known as the Kegai. The boy arrives in the idyllic town of Ashiharanakatsu to find a safe place at the home of his relatives. Nini quickly begins to get to know the locals and build relationships with them. At the same time, he searches for people possessed by Kegai, which, contrary to what the locals say, has also made its presence felt here.
In LOOP8 we observe the action from the third person perspective (TPP). We wander through the town, talk to its inhabitants and complete tasks, as well as look for residents possessed by Kegai. After finding one of them, we move with him to the Kousen Hirasaka, a place suspended between physical reality and the afterlife, where we can fight him. Clashes in turn-based mode involve Nini and his companions, each of whom has individual skills. As we progress, our combat potential grows, so gradually we can face more powerful enemies.
The game implements a time-reversal mechanism which allows us to correct our mistakes. Besides, it is worth ing that the inhabitants of Ashiharanakatsu react to our actions in a realistic way, presenting a full spectrum of emotions. The choices we make affect both our relationships with our companions and the course of the story.
Graphics in LOOP8 is in a manga style.
