Lost Orbit for PC and PS4 is an arcade game by Pixelnatus. It is the first production fully developed by the studio, which used to create visual elements for games by other developers, such as Contrast.
Plot
You play as a lone astronaut called Harrison, whose ship malfunctions badly, which results it its complete destruction. Harrison manages to escape, but now he has to go back home on his own, with no means of transport except the gravitational forces of space objects. On his way, he encounters not only many perils, but also a previously unknown civilization.
Mechanics
The game is a vertical platformer, which means that your task is to move upwards, not to the side. Harrison can use a jetpack, but by doing so, he uses up precious fuel, restricting its use to correcting the trajectory. You primary propellants are the gravitational forces of planetoids. Circling around their orbits you gather speed and then choose the right moment to jump, so that you may shoot like a bullet in the chosen direction. The maps are full of dangerous asteroids and other objects, which can be deadly on impact.
Technical aspects
Lost Orbit for PC and PS4 features attractive cartoonish 3D visuals. The events of the game are also accompanied by a commentary describing what's happening on screen and sometimes even helping Harrison.
