Mechwarrior is a simulator of tens of tons of robots that takes you into a distant future - until 3024. As a Gideon Braver, you will complete a number of missions and regain your right to the royal throne.
Your name is Gideon Braver Vandenburg and you are the heir to the throne. Unfortunately, during your absence on the family planet, unknown perpetrators attacked and completely destroyed your home, by the way cutting the whole family into the trunk. As if that wasn't enough, the family Chalice fell into the hands of terrorists, which is the only physical confirmation of your rights to the throne. Involved in this murder, you decide to find the real murderers and bring them to justice. It might seem that the above story is a perfect introduction to another RPG set in the realities of fantasy, but nothing more misleading. Mechwarrior is a simulator of tens of tons of robots that takes you into the distant future - until 3024.
As a Gideon Braver (the family name could raise unnecessary suspicions), you start a private vendetta on board a huge Jenner class robot. Both this machine and the amount of cash received from a friend should be enough for you for a while. However, you will soon find out that you will need stronger means of expression to survive in this dangerous world.
Mechwarrior offers eight types of robots (Rifleman, Jenner, Shadow Hawk, Phoenix Hawk, Batllemaster, Warhammer, Marauder and Locust), differing in various factors such as speed and durability. Both the machines and the necessary equipment cost a lot of money, which we earn by completing missions commissioned by different people. At a later stage of the game we can expand our team with additional robots. They will be piloted by other daredevils who can be hired with a glass at the bar.
The actual action of the game is presented from the perspective of the first person, while a simple, three-dimensional engine is responsible for the environment watched outdoors. Poverty of graphic elements is visible at every step, but not only this determines the strength of the game. In Mechwarrior, fast and exciting robot battles come to the fore. It has to be itted that the authors have done an excellent job in this respect. The game is able to draw in as few as possible, as long as one takes into the year of release and all the consequences resulting from it.
