The second action roguelike game from the Bringer IP (after Samurai Bringer). In Metal Bringer we travel to the future and we are allowed to take control over androids using powerful combat mechs. Our primary job is to eliminate hordes of enemy units. We can customize & upgrade both androids and mechs during the course of the game.

Metal Bringer is the second action game with roguelike elements under the Bringer label, following Samurai Bringer released in 2022. The development of this game was handled by the authors of its predecessor, the independent studio Alphawing. Its release was managed by the company Playism. This time, the creators take us to the future and allow us to take control of androids and powerful mechs.

Gameplay

Creating characters and mechs

In Metal Bringer the action is viewed in an isometric view. The game allows us to create from scratch both androids (called Labor) and mechs (Arms), which we can control. These first ones differ from each other in of appearance, as well as features and parts determining their fighting style.

Combat and upgrades

The essence of the gameplay is fighting hordes of enemies in futuristic locations. The battles are very dynamic, and during them we control both our android and its mech.

The specified Labor can increase its combat potential using applications installed from disks left by enemies. Arms, on the other hand, gradually wear out, but we can install parts left by enemy machines. We replace damaged components with them or exchange individual parts for their stronger versions.

Death and its consequences

After destroying a given android, we lose the applications installed in it, and after destroying a mech - its components. Nonetheless, the game allows us to analyze application data, which means that each subsequent Labor can be stronger than the previous one. The same applies to the Arms parts plans, which are used for the customization of the mechs.

Story

Metal Bringer takes us to the distant future. The main character of the game is a young girl named Suria, who has spent the last 1000 years in cryogenic sleep. Wanting to find what remains of humanity, the protagonist builds androids to explore the world for her and face the dangers lurking within it.

Graphics and sound

The graphic design of Metal Bringer was created in pixel art technique, and the retro style in which the game is maintained is complemented by a chiptune soundtrack. The presentation was enriched with modern technologies, led by the of ray tracing providing dynamic, realistic lighting.
