MLB: The Show 25 is the twentieth main installment of the baseball sports game series. Similar to the previous parts of the series, the game is based on the MLB license, which is the American Major League Baseball league. It was developed by the San Diego Studio team, which belongs to Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Gameplay

In MLB: The Show 25 we participate in baseball games. We are responsible for team management issues and the game also allows us to develop players.

The official MLB license ensures the presence of real names, teams, and stadiums, while a range of difficulty levels (led by the highest - G.O.A.T.) allows to adjust the level of challenge to individual preferences. The Ambush Hitting mechanic deserves a separate mention, allowing for more aggressive ball hitting during matches.

Game modes

Similar to previous installments of the series, MLB: The Show 25 offers a variety of game modes:

Road to The Show - a gameplay variant in which we lead our own player through successive levels of career, developing him with the help of perks and a revamped attribute system. In addition to this, our career is influenced by new Impact Plays, which are key moments.
Franchise - a mode in which we take control over the entire team and do everything to make it successful over the course of subsequent seasons. Compared to its predecessor, it stands out due to improved transfer logic and Defensive WAR.
March to October - we can lead a team through a single season.
Storylines - stories about baseball stars and the most important moments of their careers.
Diamond Dynasty - a mode in which we collect player cards and compose a team from them, and then put it up to fight against other players. Thanks to Diamond Dynasty: 360, we don't have to worry about time constraints. It is complemented by the roguelike mode Diamond Quest.

The game allows for singleplayer and multiplayer (via the Internet or locally).

Graphics and sound

MLB: The Show 25 looks best on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. It stands out due to its improved graphics, especially the appearance of the ground and grass. The sound layer is based on ShowTech technology, thanks to which matches are accompanied by real crowd noises and chants from the fans.
