Release Date: May 17, 2024
A third-person soulslike action RPG clearly inspired by Dark Souls. Morbid: The Lords of Ire is a sequel to Morbid: The Seven Acolytes. Players must traverse a dark fantasy land and face off against nightmarish creatures.
Morbid: The Lords of Ire is a soulslike action RPG and a sequel to 2020's Morbid: The Seven Acolytes. It was developed by Still Running, like the base game, and published by Merge Games.
Morbid: The Lords of Ire is set in the titular, horrorpunk world of Ire. We play as the Striver, facing off against the Gahars, the mighty Lords of Ire.
Morbid: The Lords of Ire is a third-person game. During our adventure we'll traverse dark realms, including snowy mountains and Victorian cities, fighting hordes of horrifying enemies along the way. Aside from regular foes, we'll also encounter powerful bosses.
Combat is fast-paced, requiring us to carefully observe our enemies' movements, discovering gaps in their defenses, avoiding and countering their attacks. Enemies can be taken down with various melee weapons, ranged weapons and abilities. As we progress, we acquire better equipment, develop our skills, collect special runes, blessings and become stronger. The game also implemented a sanity system - the longer we watch the horrors of Ire, the faster we descend into madness. Though risky, this mechanic can also make us unbelievably powerful.
Morbid: The Lords of Ire features dark 3D visuals. The enemy designs are especially appealing, though the locations are nothing to sneeze at either.

Game Ratings for Morbid: The Lords of Ire Video Game.
Smash Jump: 7 / 10 by Luke Gittens
Morbid The Lords of Ire is a slightly above average game that tries to reinvent certain aspects of the Soulslike formula, but falls somewhat short.
TheSixthAxis: 7 / 10
Morbid: Lords of Ire is not a game that'll usurp the FromSoft throne in any way but it is a very solid and enjoyable second tier Soulslike that stands alongside titles like Thymesia and is well worth the relatively cheap entry price for genre fans. It takes clear influence from Sekiro in its parry based combat but is relatively accessible for players who might bounce off that game's difficulty level.
PlayStation Universe: 7 / 10 by Timothy Nunes
Morbid: Lords of Ire brings a couple unique things to the Soulsborne genre, like how to upgrade weapons and a simplified but enjoyable combat experience. While progression on all fronts lacks the polish needed to strengthen its case, Soulsborne fans should give it a try, especially at $30.
